What are the types of migraine?

There are three main types of migraine. Isthmic migraine is the most common type. It is characterized by an aura in which a person feels like he/she has a stroke or heart attack. This is often accompanied by a tingling and numbing sensation in one or both hands or arms. Migraines can last for days and can affect people of any age.

The other two main types are called primary and secondary. The main types of migraine are characterized by a different aura or by different sensations.

The primary types of migraine are classified as Isthmic, Peri-Isthmic and Congenital. These are the three main categories of migraine. The first two types of migraine are also the three most commonly diagnosed migraine types.

Migraines usually start on the left side of the head and go to the right side. If the migraine goes to the left side of the head and moves to the right side of the head too, then this is referred to as a left sided migraine. In case the migraine goes in the opposite direction, then this is referred to as a right sided migraine.

A person who suffers from migraine can suffer in different ways depending on the intensity of the headache. Some may find their attacks are mild and only occur every few months while some may experience regular migraines that last longer than one month. It is important to know what causes your headache in order to prevent further complications.

As mentioned above, there are different types of migraine that have different triggers. Stress, emotional issues, stress hormones, genetics, depression, and food intake are the common triggers of migraine. People who are prone to stress are more susceptible to getting a migraine than those who aren’t. They also are more likely to experience long duration and frequency of migraine attacks.
